FABRIC & PRINT SELECTION 2018
JENNYTHREADS FABRICS ARE NOW 90% AMERICAN GROWN, MILLED, ORGANIC & RECYCLED!
HAND DYED SILK
With our new focus on sourcing domestic and sustainable fabrics, we now use silk sparingly for a few special styles or as an accent, as a ruffle on a dress or binding on a shirt collar, and for our neckties and Collage Scarves. Jen personally hand-dyes all silk fabrics from white using general eyeballing recipes, spontaneous color layering, and a variety of Japanese shibori hand-dyeing techniques.
Silk fabrics and patterns are one-of-a-kind; seasonal colors should be expected.
ECO- FRIENDLY HAND PRINTED jERSEY
We use all eco friendly jersey fabrics, and we preshrink and hand print them in-house.
Recycled Jersey: soft, light-mid-weight. 65% polyester recycled from water bottles 35% recycled cotton, milled in NC USA.
Bamboo Jersey: soft and drapy mid-weight. 95% bamboo 5% lycra, imported.
Stretch Rayon is stretchy, flowing, and drapes beautifully. 95% rayon, 5% lycra, imported. Since Jen hand-bleaches all prints and patterns, some color variation should be expected.
INDIVIDUALLY PRINTED ON RECYCLED JERSEY INFINITY SCARVES AND T-SHIRTS
Jen hand-prints her original illustrations on our recycled jersey Wildlife Infinity Scarves and Jenny-printed T-shirts. Expect black ink on light jersey and gold or silver ink on dark jersey. Our Cicada Cardigan has been very popular with the Chipper Squirrel, Blackbird, or Screech owl on the shoulder.
