Cloth Fiber Workshop,  Asheville, NC

Friday & Saturday, March 24 - 25, 2017

In this two day workshop, you'll piece and stretch fabric to build a strong base, then layer paint washes, drawing media, paper and fabric appliqué, hand stitching, free motion embroidery, and thread painting. Final composition may be further developed afterward or finished as a ready-to-hang wall piece.

Jen Swearington has crafted a creative living since 2003, operating Jennythreads, an independent handmade fashion studio in West Asheville, North Carolina. She is the author of Printing on Fabric: Techniques with Screens, Stencils, Inks, and Dyes published by Lark Crafts, has exhibited in Quilt National three times, is a former Arrowmont Resident Artist, and current member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. She has taught at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Penland School of Crafts, and Haywood Community College.

Jen is available to teach, lecture, consult, and create as a visiting artist in an educational setting. Contact us for more information.
